Smiley Building and Construction Ltd
Design-and-build extensions, conversions and refurbishments in Croydon
About Smiley Building and Construction Ltd
Smiley Building Services is a family-run design-and-build company founded by Bassem El-Sokkary in 2003. It is based in South Norwood and works mainly for homeowners across Croydon, Bromley, Beckenham, West Wickham and neighbouring parts of South London. The business remains owner-run, with Bassem personally managing almost every project.
Its work includes extensions, loft and garage conversions, whole-house refurbishments, new-build homes, kitchens, bathrooms and structural steel. Bathroom options include wet rooms, en-suites and accessible layouts. The in-house team covers plumbing, electrics, tiling, plastering and decorating, while the wider service runs from survey and design through planning, building control, construction and snagging.
Customers receive an itemised fixed-price quotation and a written programme before work begins. The company handles planning and building-control submissions, provides weekly progress updates during the build and works through the customer's snag list before completion. A final review call is scheduled 12 months after payment.
