About Proficiency Design and Build
Proficiency Design & Build is a residential building company established in 2011. It undertakes extensions, new builds, whole-house renovations, loft conversions and basement conversions across London and the Home Counties, including listed, heritage and Georgian properties.
Its integrated team includes designers, architects, surveyors, structural engineers, builders and contract, project, construction and site managers. Services run from surveys, architectural drawings, planning and structural design through construction, interior finishes and final certification. Each client receives a dedicated project manager.
The company says it directly employs more than 25 site staff and does not subcontract its building work. It provides fortnightly project reports, uses an industry-recognised contract, and completes a joint inspection at handover. Clients retain 2.5% of the project value for up to six months, after which the team returns to inspect and correct defects.
