About MJ Design & Building
MJ Design & Building is a family-led practice founded by Joga Singh in 1995. It undertakes new-build private homes, period-property refurbishment and substantial extensions for private clients and their architects across Greater London, the Home Counties and the English shires.
Its work includes whole-house remodelling, structural alteration, basement formation and loft conversions. The firm also works on Georgian, Regency, Victorian and Edwardian properties, including listed buildings where the appropriate consents apply.
Joga Singh remains involved in commissions of consequence, and the practice is in its second generation. The firm says it is present on every site, engages English tradesmen directly where possible and selects specialist subcontractors where needed.
Clients can appoint the firm as principal contractor, retain trade contracts while using its construction management, or engage it for pre-construction services such as buildability review and procurement strategy. It accepts a limited number of new instructions each year; initial conversations are confidential and without obligation.
