Effectable Construction

EffectAble specialises in adapting homes for older and less able people who want to maintain independent living. It works for private individuals, local authorities, housing associations and commercial organisations, providing kitchen, bathroom and access adaptations, wet rooms and bespoke extensions.

The company can support a project from funding advice and initial design through to installation. Its surveyors work with qualified occupational therapists and use CAD to show scaled designs before work begins. Builders, plumbers and fitters carry out installations, which supervisors monitor before sign-off. A resident liaison officer is the link between the end user and the design and build team.

Bathroom work ranges from grab rails to redesigns and conversions, with products chosen to suit the person’s needs and budget. The company can include an occupational therapy assessment and advises on Disabled Facilities Grant applications. Its accessible showroom has working installations for customers to try.

Based in Enfield, EffectAble says it has been there for 17 years and can reach projects throughout London and the Home Counties. It also offers access audits for organisations and holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificates.
