Basement Structures is a basement design-and-build contractor led by director Darren Wilks. The company reports more than 30 years’ experience working across London and the South East, including tight urban sites, conservation areas and listed buildings.

Its work includes new-build and retro-fit basements, under-garden rooms, excavation, underpinning, piling, structural works, waterproofing and fit-out. Basement spaces include swimming pools, spas, gyms, cinemas, wine cellars and additional living areas. The company works with homeowners, architects, developers and main contractors.

The team coordinates feasibility, design and approvals, surveys, excavation, waterproofing, fit-out and handover. The company says its waterproofing design follows BS 8102 and its temporary works are managed under BS 5975. It states that it holds £1 million professional indemnity and £10 million public and employer’s liability cover.
